Frisco and Plano Patients Find Neck Pain Relief
with Chiropractic Treatment

Chiropractic care is a form of spinal adjustment that relieves pain, promotes natural healing and restores a full range of movement and flexibility to your body. This non-invasive treatment is rooted in the belief that your body has the ability to naturally heal itself. Unfortunately, current medical care often fails to provide our bodies with the chance to heal. Instead, many doctors rely on prescription painkillers to manage pain or surgery. While medications may provide temporary pain relief, they are not a permanent solution. We know that for many patients, the idea of relying on a prescription painkiller to function every day is a frustrating and scary prospect.

Our chiropractor, Dr. Mark Taylor, is an experienced practitioner in the Frisco and Plano communities. He uses chiropractic adjustments to treat back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia and other types of chronic pain, such as sciatica. While each patient receives individualized treatments, the underlying purpose for every treatment is the same. Alignments and non-surgical spinal decompression treatments balance your body’s structure and function while promoting internal healing.

Taylor Family Chiropractic can help with back painDid you know that four out of five Americans will suffer from back pain at some point in their lives? Chronic neck pain and back pain is a common complaint, and frequently occurs due to a herniated disc or other structural problem. Over time, the cartilage surrounding our vertebrae can naturally wear away, causing a disc to slip out of place. An abrupt and sudden force, such as a car accident, can also cause a herniated disc. Once it slips out of place, the disc causes pain by pressing against nerves. Depending on which nerves the disc is pressing, you may feel a weakness, numbness or tingling sensation in your arms, back or legs. While medication can temporarily reduce this pain, it cannot restore natural alignment in the spine. Chiropractic treatments open up space in the body so the herniated disc can return to its proper place, thus resolving the underlying problem.

During an adjustment, our chiropractor will place you in specific positions to treat affected areas. You are often positioned on a padded chiropractic table, or you experience a decompression machine for gentle alignment. You may hear a popping or cracking sound during treatment – this is completely normal and a sign that natural healing and alignment is occurring.

While a chiropractor like Dr. Taylor can significantly improve your quality of life, he cannot work miracles overnight. Depending on your injury and source of pain, you may need to receive a series of adjustments or decompression treatments over six to eight weeks. Every patient is different, and after an initial consultation, Dr. Taylor will create an individualized treatment program that specifically designed for your unique needs.
