Healthy eating does not have to be boring. Let Taylor Family Chiropractic’s chiropractor Dr. Mark Taylor serve up a customized nutritional program that is wholesome, interesting, and best suited to each individual’s nutritional needs and lifestyle. Because Dr. Taylor is a chiropractor who uses a “whole person approach” with our patients, nutritional counseling fits right into the other services our clinic offices. Our center, which serves the Frisco and Plano areas, can treat and help alleviate back pain, neck pain, or pain from a specific condition such as a herniated disc or fibromyalgia.
Plano Chiropractic Reduces Back Pain
and Neck Pain with Nutritional Counseling
Staving off back pain, neck pain, and other debilitating conditions is helped immensely with a wellness plan that focuses on preventative measures, one of which is healthy eating. Dr. Taylor’s nutritional counseling builds a strong foundation for a healthy body that functions at its optimum capacity. He can suggest specific foods and nutrients that will best benefit patients based on their age, activity level, medical and health issues, and other factors, such as pregnancy, athletic training, or recovery from an injury.
Our chiropractor can also recommend or answer questions concerning dietary supplements, how medications and supplements react with each other, and diets to avoid because they are detrimental or downright dangerous. Nutrition for every Frisco patient begins with eating a balanced diet, and Dr. Taylor can develop a plan that covers the basic food groups in the necessary quantities.
The healthiest diets are those that contain grains, fruits, vegetables, milk and milk products, lean meats, and a mixture of nuts, seeds, and legumes. Each category has its own set of optimum foods, such as whole grains and brown rice in the grain category; low-fat milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy items in the milk category; the leanest cuts of beef and pork and poultry with the skin removed works best in the meat category. Whole fruits and vegetables are wise and healthy choices, although frozen varieties can be healthy, as can 100 percent fruit juice.
The healthiest diets are also those low in saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, sodium and added sugars – but none of that means giving up taste. Certain conditions, such as hypertension, high cholesterol levels, and diabetes, require extra caution when selecting a nutritional plan, and our chiropractor can steer patients in the right direction to get the nutrients they need while avoiding foods and ingredients that can prove harmful.Whether patients are looking to lose, maintain, or even gain weight, Dr. Taylor can tailor an eating plan to suit their needs. Even patients who visit our chiropractic clinic or massage therapist for another issue, such as fibromyalgia, a herniated disc, back pain, neck pain, can benefit from our nutritional counseling. A healthy diet means a healthier body all around, and that’s the main aim of our Frisco chiropractic clinic.
